Our Healthcare Mission

At Telehealth of USA, we are dedicated to providing accessible, high-quality virtual healthcare to patients nationwide. Founded in Portland, Oregon, by Dr. Basma Saadoun, MD, a board-certified family medicine physician, our mission is to eliminate barriers to care by offering secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth services that connect patients with experienced physicians and nurse practitioners (NPs).

Dr. Saadoun, with her extensive background in hospital medicine, witnessed how delays in accessing care—often for simple, treatable conditions—led to avoidable complications, unnecessary hospital admissions, and patient suffering. Driven to bridge this gap, she assembled a team of compassionate, highly skilled providers committed to patient safety, quality care, and healthcare accessibility.

Our telehealth platform provides a convenient and affordable alternative to in-person visits, eliminating long wait times, transportation challenges, and high medical costs. We continuously explore affordability solutions, including payment plans, senior discounts, and student discounts, ensuring that virtual doctor visits remain within reach for all.

We proudly welcome patients from all backgrounds and languages, partnering with HIPAA-compliant medical translators to deliver inclusive, culturally competent care. At Telehealth of USA, we are redefining healthcare access, making it easier, more affordable, and more inclusive—one virtual visit at a time.

Practice Policies

  • Our practice is currently unable to bill insurance for services rendered by providers. However, we collect insurance information in case additional orders, such as lab work or imaging, are required. Payments are accepted online via credit or debit card, and we also accept payments from HSA and FSA accounts.

Our providers carefully assess each patient’s condition during telehealth visits. If, during your consultation, we determine that your symptoms require in-person evaluation at an urgent care or emergency room, we will discontinue the telehealth visit and issue a full refund. However, please note that we do not provide refunds for completed consultations or cases where medical care was provided during the visit.

A full refund is available for cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment. No-shows will be charged the full appointment fee.

  • Please check in and be prepared for your scheduled appointment on time. Each appointment is limited to its allotted time slot and cannot be extended for late arrivals. Patients who arrive more than halfway through the scheduled appointment time will be considered a No-Show, and the appointment will be canceled with the full fee charged. This policy also applies to same-day appointments.

  • Ensuring the safety and privacy of our patients and their family members is our priority. As a telehealth service provider, we do not offer emergency medical or mental health services, nor do we perform in-person procedures. If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, please call 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency department.

All patients must provide updated personal and emergency contact information, as well as their location at the time of the telehealth visit. If a medical or mental health emergency occurs, or if a patient is determined to be incapacitated, we may involve emergency services. We are not responsible for any costs associated with emergency services.

  • We encourage all patients to be in a safe and private environment for their telehealth appointments. Family members may join the appointment with the patient's consent.

For patients attending a telehealth visit from a vehicle, the vehicle must be safely parked at the start of the appointment.

We are legally required to report cases of neglect or abuse involving vulnerable individuals to the state’s Department of Human Services or an equivalent authority. Additionally, we may involve law enforcement if there is an imminent safety concern.

  • We are committed to providing high-quality and confidential interpreter services. Interpreter services can be requested at the time of scheduling or during the appointment. An additional charge applies for interpreter services. Patients may also choose an adult family member (must be 18 years or older) to interpret on their behalf.

  • We can provide letters of absence for work or school, but they are limited to a maximum of 48 hours. We do not provide disability assessments, sports physicals, or workers’ compensation evaluations.

Although we do not have a physical location for lab work and imaging, we can send orders to local facilities that provide these services. Health insurance information will be included on order requisitions. Test results will be released through the patient portal; we do not provide hard copies.

Please note that we are legally required to report positive results for sexually transmitted diseases and other communicable infections to the state’s Department of Health or an equivalent authority.

  • Our providers and staff are committed to treating patients and their families with courtesy and respect. We expect the same level of respect in return.

To ensure a professional and safe work environment, we do not tolerate verbal or physical abuse toward our staff. Angry outbursts or threatening behavior may result in discharge from the practice.

  • We do not prescribe or refill any controlled substances (Schedule I medications), including narcotic pain medications, sedatives, or ADHD medications.
